APPro54G / APPro54G Client installation files are based on latest APPro version for RTL8186 devices with 2 MB flash / 16 MB RAM. Web interface of APPro54G Client is identical to one found in APPro54G, except following restrictions:


    • operation mode limited to APC (client) and P2P Bridge;
    • routing modes: Bridge, Router, Router(LAN1,LAN2 Bridged);
    • disabled change of MAC addresses;
    • DHCP client available only on WLAN interface;
    • NAT feature available only on WLAN and PPPoE interfaces;
    • bandwidth management only on WLAN and PPPoE interfaces;
    • downlink traffic management only on LAN1 and/or LAN2 interface;
    • DHCP server only on LAN1 and LAN2 interface;
    • up to 10 entries in Traffic Manager table;
    • disabled feature to modify files in flash memory.



Currently APPro54G and APPro54G Client firmware is available on following devices:


    • AirLive WL-5460AP, 5470AP;
    • D-Link DAP-1160;
    • Edimax 7209APG;
    • Minitar MNWAPG-2;
    • Planet WAP-4035 and WRT-414;
    • Planex GW-AP54SP,
    • Techniclan WAR-54GS and compatible.


To obtain a license for APPro54G or APPro54G Client software, you need to complete following steps:


    1. Making an order and a payment, verification of access to the license generator.
    2. Installing firmware in a device.
    3. Generating license file and installing it in a device.


1. Making an order and a payment, verification of access to the license generator.

Payment for the license should be made as indicated below. Data required to log on to the generator are send via e-mail to an address given in the order form. This e-mail is send only after payment transaction is completed.

After receiving e-mail, we recommend to log on to the generator system and verify whether number of available licenses is consistent with placed order. In case of any discrepancies, they will be resolved via e-mail exchange.

2. Installing firmware in a device.

APPro54G installation files should be downloaded from location appropriate to your AP type (currently we support following models: AirLive WL-5460AP and 5470AP, D-Link DAP-1160, Edimax 7209APG, Minitar MNWAPG-2, Planet WAP-4035 and WRT-414, Planex GW-AP54SP, Techniclan WAR-54GS and compatible):

Software installation requires performing following steps:


    • connect Ethernet port in your Windows or Linux PC directly to LAN1 port in your AP (in case of two-port devices) or LAN3 (for models with five LAN ports);
    • configure computer's IP address to 192.168.1.10;
    • press and hold AP's Reset button;
    • with Reset button still pushed power on the AP;
    • wait for about 2 seconds until CPU/Status LED changes state – after that you can release Reset button;
    • using TFTP client send firmware file in binary mode to 192.168.1.6 IP address:

      tftp -m binary 192.168.1.6 -c put [file name] (on Linux)

    or
      tftp -i 192.168.1.6 put [file name] (for Windows);

    • wait for few minutes while AP automatically installs new firmware and restarts itself.


NOTE: If above operation ends with errors, for example:

  Transfer timed out.


verify whether you configured correct IP address and there's direct Ethernet connection between computer's and device's LAN ports, and check if you preformed correct Reset button/power on sequence.

After installation is completed, device operates with default settings:


    • IP Address: 192.168.100.252
    • login: admin
    • password: admin


Further updates of APPro54G and APPro54G Client firmware should be made with appropriate page of Web interface and standard upgrade files.

3. Generating license file and installing it in a device.

In a first step you need to find registration data of the device.

    • configure your computer to IP address 192.168.100.10, and log on to the device using Web browser (type address http://192.168.100.252/);
    • enter 'admin' as both username and password;
    • locate strings of characters that begin with "Hardware ID" and "WLAN MAC".


Next, in a separate browser window, open a Web page with license generator.

    • open new browser window and type address of the generator, as in an e-mail you received;
    • you will be asked for username and password - enter login data from the e-mail;
    • in the generator window select a license type you need, and type owner's data (company, name, address, e-mail);
    • on device's Web page select characters shown after "Hardware ID:", then right-click that selection and select Copy from menu;
    • on generator's Web page right-click "Hardware ID:" field, and select Paste from menu; make sure that pasted data contains no spaces or other characters that aren't part of identifier string; example of correct identifier: 17-9b-[...]-0f-85
    • repeat two previous steps for "WLAN MAC" fields;
    • click on Generate License button; your browser should download a license file; if download process did not start, (for example, browser has blocked this operation), you can download license file by clicking on a Download generated license: link;
    • on device's Web page click on 'Choose File' button, and navigate to the file downloaded in previous step;
    • Click 'Upload license' button;
    • if operation completes successfully, after restart APPro54G / APPro54G Client software will begin normal operation.
